Age of missionary service has changed for L.D.S.
EXCITING NEWS FOR MY FAMILY!
My husband and I returned home after attending volleyball games that some of my children are involved in. My eldest daughter said that there was some exciting news that was announced at the general conference held by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Oct. 6th and 7th, 2012. She revealed the exciting news to our other children but would not tell her father or me. We tried guessing as we pulled up the conference.
My husband and I are thrilled. Just as my children are. This has also caused them to ponder their future plans. It's been fun to listen to them figure things out. This means that in 3 years and one month from the date of announcement we could have our oldest daughter and son serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is actually quite possible that in three years we could have 2 children serving full time missions at the same time for the following decade.
Wow!

No One Alive Is Youer than You
I often come across quotes that strum my heart strings. I love this quote by Dr. Seuss.
At times I will share these type of quotes with my children hoping to build them up.
So, to my children, I say,
"Life can be like the desert in these shots, brutal and harsh.
Yet, I feel blessed to have you in it.
I love and thank you for being you."

It won't be long before you grow into manhood. I pray that time will slow down so I can enjoy it all. For now, thank you for being my little man. |

I changed the title of my blog to Christine James' Zest Quest.
I am also starting up a Radio show through Blog Talk Radio called Zest Quest.
and am also learning how to use Google+.
I am thrilled about these endeavors.
I am also in my 6th chapter of a fiction novel. This excites me also. Writing has proven to calm my nerves. Wish me luck and send your prayers as I push through all these new adventures in my life.
I am doing one thing to help me be focused in all my goals; I'm showing up. That's right,
I read a story about Deanne DeMarco's son in Speaking of Success where Bobby was born with such physical limitations that everyone believed he would never be able to run. Later when he was in 6th grade he joined the track team. He was last at every meet for several years. However, he showed up for every practice and every track meet. It's a wonderful story and it has a sweet ending. This has inspired me to do something every day. No matter how small; just show up.
I will post with updates about these endeavors but in the mean time I hope to give you valuable information to uplift your hearts.
Love to all,
Christine
