Why Mommycacher?

This picture was taken 17 months ago.  Just looking at this picture makes me get all sentimental because these 11 beauties have grown so much.  Our baby in my arms has grown twice that size and is running all over the place, including on top of our stove.  EEEK!! I wanted to capture the moments and feelings of my heart.  I want to give wisdom to my children.  I also want to uplift and build other mothers.
Here's a quote from Marjorie Pay Hinckley  "Women of Virtue" by Jodi Marie Robinson, pg. 94   :

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.  I want to drive up in a station wagon (a 15 passenger van in my case) that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.  I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn.  I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.  I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.  I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.  I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."
I love this quote and this picture above of Majorie and Gordon Hinckley.  I believe there is a choice mothers make about what kind of woman or mother we'll be.  I've chosen to be as this quote says.  I want to be of service in everything I do.  I don't think that it means I won't have times of wearing tailored clothing.  I still wouldn't mind my Mustang Dream Car but as of now the manicured fingernails just get in my way.
I intend to be honest with my feelings but also sensitive to family and friends.  I hope this blog can be a blessing to you as it helps me in my goals of helping my children treasure mommies.
